Oil rise to hit Thailand: Escap

Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines will be adversely affected if crude-oil prices reach the critical level of US$130 per barrel this year, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (Escap) says.

Domestic oil product demand, excluding bitumen and liquefied petroleum gas, rose 3.7% year-on-year in January to 592,754 barrels per day, reflecting expanded business activity and industrial use of energy.
