Sompol Kiatphaibool, chairman of Siam City Bank (SCIB), appears to be the leading candidate to fill Pakorn Malakul Na Ayudhya’s shoes as the Stock Exchange of Thailand chairman. Sompol is one of four names put forward by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s nomination committee chaired by Vijit Supinit, a Finance Ministry source said. Before taking the chairmanship at SCIB, he was Commerce Ministry permanent secretary and an adviser to the finance and commerce ministers. (The Nation)
