The Commerce Ministry expects the longawaited retail and wholesale act to be enforced by the middle of next year if the current government remains in office,according to Yanyong Phuangrach, the ministry’s permanent secretary. The ministry will re-submit a new draft to the cabinet tomorrow, having worked out revisions with the Thailand Trade Representative Office (TTR), particularly on a planned committee to oversee new retail outlet expansion.
